African Lumber opened its doors in May 2014, catering to the hardwood lumber demands of the Western Cape manufacturing community.

Initially specializing in premium exotic timbers, sourced from West Africa’s Congo Basin, our offerings gradually expanded to include tropical varieties from Southeast Asia, robust hardwoods from North America and Europe’s temperate zones, and, eventually, premium tropical hardwoods from South America’s Amazon region. 

A profound commitment to innovation is embedded in our foundation, as evidenced by our pioneering efforts in introducing TMT (Thermally Modified Timbers) to the South African market through a strategic collaboration with Thermory, underscoring our commitment to staying at the forefront of industry advancements.
